Description

This module will approach issues of re-imagining Shakespeare in a creative and multifaceted way, as it will discuss not only the original Shakespearean text and its possibilities of performance but also the legacy of this text and the varied ways in which directors, performers and playwrights have addressed the canonical text(s). The theoretical framework will touch upon issues of bardolatry, canonicity, adaptation; it will discuss ways of destabilising or reinstating the canonical texts and explore methodologies of acting and performing Shakespeare.
